Rev. Laurel Hallman For UUA President?

Chances are pretty good. . .

It would seem that Rev. Peter Morales has his work cut out for him if he seriously wants to be elected as the next President of the UUA aka the Unitarian*Universalist Association of Congregations. Rev. Laurel Hallman's campaign seems to be off to a better start at least as far as campaign web sites go. Here are some words from the Reverend Dr. Laurel Hallman's speech to the congregation of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas in which she publicly announced her candidacy for UUA President. Needless to say they have The Emerson Avenger's embedded links to appropriate Google searches. . .

"I’m sure the founders of this faith and the founders of this church could not have imagined the world of today. But they gave us a way of thinking about religion, a way of embodying religion; they gave us a place to be religious together that is needed more than ever, in our pluralistic world. They knew then, as we know now, that our churches need to be strong and healthy not only to survive, but to be a vital presence where we will be so needed, for many years to come."
