UUA President Bill Sinkford Stands On The Side Of Love For Victims Of U*U Clergy Misconduct By Doing Absolutely Nothing. . .

to provide the slightest restorative justice for ALL victims of U*U clergy misconduct as requested/demanded in my Open Letter of January 15th 2009, to say nothing of earlier. . . Needless to say, pretty much the same can be said for UUA Moderator Gini Courter and any and all other members of the UUA Board of Trustees. Certainly I have not received the slightest communication from any of these "good Unitarians" indicating any readiness or willingness on their part to provide some genuine and tangible restorative justice for all victims of U*U clergy misconduct.

Unfortunately with only four months to go I doubt that Sinkford will address your concerns. As for Gini, she is more concerned with gaining as much power as possible within the UUA Board and the association. There are rumors that she wants to change the bylaws to be permanent moderator without term limits. I would not look to her for help.

Thanks for that info Anonymous. It would be preferable if you would attach your name to your comment but I can understand why you may not want to in this case. I too doubt that UUA President Bill Sinkford will address what he once described as my "obviously deep concerns" which he then proceeded to do little or nothing to responsibly address over the course of his eight year term as UUA President. As for UUA Moderator Gini Courter, I am not realistically looking for her help any more than I am realistically looking for the help of UUA President Bill Sinkford. She too has totally ignored all of my previous "electronic communications" to the UUA Board of Trustees that had her name on them. . . Along with UUA President Bill Sinkford, UUA Moderator Gini Courter has stood on the side of love for victims of UUA clergy misconduct by doing absolutely nothing, or next to nothing, to responsibly address my concerns. To my knowledge, which is informed by people who are very well informed about U*U clergy misconduct, perhaps especially U*U clergy sexual misconduct, the UUA has done virtually nothing to provide any real and tangible restorative justice to victims of clergy misconduct in spite of effectively promising to do so. In light of its well established track record I did not realistically expect the current UUA administration to respond in responsibility to my "obviously deep concerns". I am just underlining the hypocrisy of these U*U "religious leaders".

This is the first I have heard about rumors that Gini Courter wants to change UUA bylaws to be permanent moderator without term limits. Quite frankly that sounds totally outrageous and I find these rumors hard to believe precisely because of the very outrageousness of such a desire on the part of Gini Courter. If these unsubstantiated rumors are in fact true it would say a lot about what passes for "democracy" in the UUA, to say nothing of the greater U*U World. In that you have publicly shared these rumors I would hope that U*Us in a position to do so will look into these disturbing rumors to see just how true, or not, they are. Come to think of it. . . Kathleen Mongomery aka Kay Montgomery has been Executive Vice President of the UUA for a rather long time. I dare say that it may be time for her to go, especially if she is something of a Cheney-esque power behind the throne of the King of the U*U World in Boston. . .

Speaking of U*Us being in positions to do something. . . I believe that UUA President Bill Sinkford may now be very well positioned to do a Mea Culpa and provide a formal apology to any and all victims of U*U clergy misconduct, one that acknowledges that the UUA has failed, if not refused. . . to live up to, aka honor and uphold, its pledge to "bend towards justice" in the somewhat questionable blanket apology that Kathleen Montgomery delivered to victims of U*U clergy sexual misconduct at the 2000 UUA GA in Nashville Tennessee the better part of a decade ago now.

In light of this Transient & Permanent blog post, and the fact that Gini Courter claims to be seeking one final term as UUA Moderator on her new 'Just Gini' blog, it seems unlikely that the rumors about Gini wanting to change UUA bylaws to be permanent moderator without term limits are all that well founded.
