Why Is The Unitarian Church Anti-Christian?

Somebody from Farmington Michigan was just asking Google. . .

Their questioning Google search brought them to my blog post titled 'Yet Another Anti-Pagan, Anti-Christian, Anti-Religious Unitarian*Universalist "Church". . .' and they followed the link from that post to The Wild Hunt blog post titled 'Unitarian Universalism and Paganism' where someone going by the handle PaganMama posted the following words as part of a comment about an alleged anti-pagan Unitarian*Universalist minister in South-West Florida -

We once had a visitor from another state stand up during the get to know the newbies/visitors, and when she thanked Jesus in the end for allowing her to be there with her family (surviving a potentially fatal disease) the congregation actually booed this wonderful lady. I have not been to, nor will I go again, until the current reverend leaves her position. Unfortunately, being in SW FL things are so far from each other, and the next UU church is >40 miles from my house.

end quote

I get a fair number of visitors arriving here as a result of running similar Google searches in which various forms and combinations of the terms "anti-Christian" and Unitarian*Universalism are inter-connected. . . I also get visits from people who have run less specific Google searches such as - Unitarians intolerant

I think that Unitarian*Universalists would be very well advised to ask themselves just why it is that people are running such Google searches. Of course AFA*I*AC the short but not so sweet answer to that question is that anti-Christian, and more broadly anti-religious, intolerance and bigotry (to say nothing of anti-Republican and more broadly anti-conservative intolerance and bigotry) is still a significant problem within the Unitarian*Universalist religious community. I put it to Unitarian*Universalists U*U World-wide that The Tiny Declining Fringe Religion™ will NEVER become The Religion For Our Time™ if it continues to allow anti-Christian and more broadly anti-religious intolerance and bigotry to be affirmed and promoted by U*Us, especially "fundamentalist atheist" or otherwise anti-religious U*U ministers.

You couldn't be more correct about the level of anti-Christian bias among the Unitarian Universalists. I was raised in the UUA, and really never felt at home. As a political conservative and a believer in God, I was an automatic outcast. I've been Roman Catholic for five years now, and I couldn't be happier! Obviously, I had some deeper issues with UU (subordinating faith to pure rationalism, lack of a creed, etc.) but the anti-Christian rhetoric certainly helped to push me toward Rome.

Thank you for your comment Anonymous. I see nothing in your comment that constitutes the kind of insulting and/or offensive BS that would cause me to "out" someone but, that being the case, it would be preferable if you would sign your name to it.

I agree that as a political conservative and believer in God you would find yourself to be doubly unwelcome in many U*U "Welcoming Congregations." As far as UU "pure rationalism" goes I could stand to see more genuine rationalism from U*Us. God knows that some of the most stunningly irrational people, emotion driven, and even outright delusional people I have ever had the misfortune to deal with are U*Us. . .

For anyone visiting this sight for answers, I invite you to visit the website of my church, The First Unitarian Church of Dallas. I've never once heard a negative word spoken about Christians. You guys are missing the point. The point of the UU church is to NOT cast judgment on anyone and to accept everyone's right to have an opinion and perspective, with the exception of anyone not acting in love. Could there be an exception here or there, sure. But Im pretty sure we can say the same things about certain Christian churches not conducting themselves in an appropriate manner. Catholic Church molestation anyone? I see a whole lot of finger pointing from people who don't like finger pointing. How about we all just clean our own front porch! And what do you mean about an anti-Christian bias? Every perspective is biased. Every single one.

:For anyone visiting this sight for answers, I invite you to visit the website of my church, The First Unitarian Church of Dallas.

The information, or perhaps I should say misinformation and fraudulent U*U Propaganda, that is presented on the web sites of Unitarian*Universalist "churches" is all too often contradicted by the actual words and actions of the U*U "religious leaders" and ordinary members of these U*U "churches". The same can be said about much of what is posted on the UUA's website. In short Unitarian*Universalists do a very poor job of actually practicing what they SO insincerely "preach". I could provide hundreds and even thousands of examples of UUA leaders, UUA ministers, and ordinary U*Us making a total mockery of everything U*Uism claims to stand for if I wanted to waste the amount of time required to do so. I have already provided numerous examples of U*Us not only FAILing to practice what U*Uism preaches, but obstinately refusing to do so on this blog and other internet forums.

:I've never once heard a negative word spoken about Christians.

I am glad to hear that, but there is NO question that UUA leaders, UUA clergy, and numerous individual U*Us DO engage in various forms of anti-Christian and more broadly anti-religious intolerance and bigotry. Indeed current UUA President Rev. Dr. Peter "Beyond Belief" Morales trashed the world 3 major monotheistic religions and other "old religions" in his sermon cum stump speech announcing his candidacy for UUA ¨President and, to date, he has never retracted or apologized for his disparaging words.

:You guys are missing the point. The point of the UU church is to NOT cast judgment on anyone and to accept everyone's right to have an opinion and perspective, with the exception of anyone not acting in love.

I'm not convinced that that is actually "the point" of the U*U church, but if it is, the UUA leaders, U*U clergy & numerous ordinary U*Us who falsely "cast judgment" on me and other people, and go to extreme lengths to censor and suppress my right to have an opinion and perspective on issues like U*U clergy abuse and UUA cover-up and denial thereof, to say nothing of other U*U injustices, abuses and hypocrisy, completely disregard and violate that point on an ongoing basis.

:Could there be an exception here or there, sure. But Im pretty sure we can say the same things about certain Christian churches not conducting themselves in an appropriate manner. Catholic Church molestation anyone?

Unitarian "church" pedophilia and rape anyone?

UUA misuse of blasphemy law to cover-up and deny the aforementioned Unitarian "church" pedophilia and rape anyone?

UUA Moderator Jim Key's brazen bald faced lie denying ANY sexual abuse of children committed by Unitarian "church" ministers in what was supposed to be a second UUA institutional apology to victims of U*U clergy sexual misconduct anyone?

: I see a whole lot of finger pointing from people who don't like finger pointing. How about we all just clean our own front porch!

I have been asking Unitarian*Universalists aka U*Us to just clean The U*U Movement's rather dirty front porch for about two decades now, but not only do UUA leadership, U*U clergy and thousands of ordinary U*Us obstinately refuse to clean up the "shit" on The U*U Movement's front porch, but they keep adding more "shit" to the Big Fat U*U Pile Of Shit that is on The U*U Movement's front porch. So get to work U*Us and start cleaning up The U*U Movement's Big Fat U*U Pile Of Shit, starting with the UUA incredibly shitty blasphemous libel accusation against me. . .

:And what do you mean about an anti-Christian bias? Every perspective is biased. Every single one.

I mean a bias perspective that is biased against Christianity and*or Christians.
