Rev. Debra Haffner Inadvertently Kicks UUA President Peter Morales In The Balls For His Failure To Apologize To Victims Of U*U Clergy Misconduct

Rev. Debra W. Haffner of the Religious Institute has publicly called upon Roman Catholic Pope Benedict XVI to publicly apologize "to those the Church has hurt" in her 'The Pope on Twitter: Here's What I'd Like to Read' blog post. Interestingly enough Rev. Haffner has previously called upon UUA President Peter Morales to publicly apologize to *some* of those whom the Unitarian Universalist Church has hurt, i.e. ALL victims of clergy misconduct committed by "less than perfect" Unitarian Universalist ministers, but President Morales has apparently refused to do so to date. . .

Here is the comment that I just submitted to Rev. Debra Haffner's "moderated" 'Sexuality and Religion: What's the Connection?' blog -

"I'm profoundly sorry to those the Church has hurt."

Personally I would like to see UUA President Peter Morales say this to the numerous people that the Unitarian Universalist "church" has hurt in various ways including, but by no means limited to, victims of UU clergy misconduct of various kinds.

Didn't you yourself recommend that the UUA -

"Have President (Morales) issue (a) broad-based statement and *apology* to victims of misconduct at GA 2010 and announce new procedures or task force."

in your 'Toward a Sexually Healthy and Responsible Unitarian Universalist Association' report?

I see no evidence whatsoever of UUA President Peter Morales making any such statement or apology at either the 2010 UUA GA or the 2011 UUA GA.

Apparently President Morales, to say nothing of the UUA more generally. . . just can't bring themselves to genuinely "stand on the side of love" for victims of UU clergy misconduct, or provide any real and tangible restorative justice for ALL victims of UU clergy misconduct. (typo corrected)

Needless to say, I could go on too Rev. Haffner. . .

And I am very happy to report that Rev. Debra Haffner seemed quite happy to post my critical comment as may be seen below. . .
