Those U*Us Who Sow The Wind Shall Reap The Whirlwind

Apparently not just figuratively but quite literally. . .

Who would have thought that a tornado aka whirlwind would ever blow the steeple off of a Unitarian Universalist church in Monson Massachusetts of all places?

I mean maybe a U*U church in Alabama or Missouri or Kansas or something, but Massachusetts?!!

Dare I ask?

Hosea can U*Us see?

Hi Robin

I notice you haven't posted in a few days. Is everything ok?

I'd like to ask your opinion on something, if I may.

For all that many UUs often talk about "sin" and how they don't really go in for that idea, it seems to me that they DO have an unconscious/unspoken concept of "sin" and there are certain things that are unacceptable to UUs which might be classified as "UU sins." But I'm finding it a bit difficult to articulate specifically what those would be.

Can you think of some UU "sins" that you have encountered?

Hi Former UU Woman,

I won't say that everything is OK but there is nothing "untoward". I am in good health both physical and mental and enjoying the summer where it is possible to do so with our far from summery weather so far. . . I spent the weekend photographing the Montreal Grand Prix and was quite busy earlier in the week photographing the aftermath of a police shooting. I am currently enjoying the sun and free WiFi in the Old Port of Montreal.

I have been posting comments on Rev. Dr. Marilyn Sewell's rather misleading Unitarian Universalist Theology article in The Huffington Post in the last few days. You might want to chime in yourself. :-)

:Can you think of some UU "sins" that you have encountered?

Complaining about UU clergy misconduct or otherwise criticizing UU clergy.

Pointing out glaringly obvious UU hypocrisy.

Protesting in front of UU churches and UUA GAs.

How's that for starters? ;-)
