Rev. Cynthia P. Cain's Sexual Harassment Of Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, And The Whole Grand Old Party DO Kinda Suck Don't It U*Us. . .

Since the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations aka the UUA seems to believe that it constitutes sexual harassment to say that a hypocritical Unitarian Universalist minister "sucks and blows at the same time" I thought that, in all fairness aka *equity*. . . the UUA should hold Lexington KY U*U minister Rev. Cynthia P. Cain accountable for her own sexual harassment of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, current Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and ALL other members in the Grand Old Party, by insultingly name-calling Republicans "a whole bunch of really mean people" who "DO suck" in her 'A Jersey Girl in Kentucky' blog post entitled 'OMG! Mean people DO suck.'

Without further ado here is the complete text of the "electronic communication" that I sent to UUA President Peter Morales, UUA Vice President for Ministries and Congregational Support Harlan Limpert, UUA Executive Vice President Kathleen "'Kay" Montgomery, and the UUA Board of Trustees yesterday afternoon. This brand spanking new clergy misconduct complaint was added to a resending of my previous unbecoming conduct complaint against Rev. Cain that I had emailed to President Morales over a year and a half ago during the second observance of 'National Standing On The Side Of Love Day' on Monday February 14, 2011. An email that President Morales negligently, complicitly, and indeed quite foolishly failed to respond in responsibility to.

And so it goes U*Us. . .

Thor's Day October 18, 2012

Dear President Morales,

It is most regrettable that you chose the fate of disregarding my unbecoming conduct complaint against Lexington KY U*U minister Rev. Cynthia P. Cain (copied below) that I sent to you over a year and a half ago now, during the second observance of 'National Standing On The Side Of Love Day'. It is even more regrettable that your UUA administration chose the fate of having me served with an arrogant and aggressive cease and desist demand letter accusing me of "sexual harassment" of another rather hypocritical female U*U minister simply because I had used the colloquial term "sucks and blows at the same time" in blogging about this "less than perfect" U*U pastor's hypocritical behavior. I do not agree with the UUA's rather questionable opinion that using the colloquial term "sucks and blows at the same time" (or variations thereof) to describe a person's hypocritical behavior actually constitutes "sexual harassment"; however, in that the UUA is formally accusing me of sexual harassment for using this idiom, I think that it would be completely inconsistent with Unitarian Universalism's Second Principle, which calls for justice, *equity* (aka fairness), and compassion in human relations, for the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations and it's ever so aptly named Ministerial *Fellowship* Committee to allow Rev. Cynthia P. Cain to get away with her own "sexual harassment" of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, current Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and ALL other members of the Republican Party aka "The Grand Old Party" by libeling Republicans (including what few Republican Unitarian Universalists may remain as card-carrying members in the congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association) as "a whole bunch of really mean people" who "DO suck".

I am thus demanding that, in addition to all of the complaints that I previously submitted to you in my original unbecoming conduct complaint against Rev. Cynthia P. Cain, the UUA must hold Rev. Cain fully accountable for her sexual harassment of Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and indeed ALL other members of "The Grand Old Party" for publicly asserting that these Republican persons of inherent worth and dignity "DO suck" in her insulting and defamatory blog post entitled 'OMG! Mean people DO suck', which was posted to her blog on Wednesday September 8, 2008, and is still available to be read on the interconnected web of the internet to this very day at the same URL that I provided in my original unbecoming conduct complaint on Monday, February 14, 2011.

If you once again fail, or indeed refuse, to responsibly forward this "new and improved" clergy misconduct complaint against Rev. Cynthia P. Cain to the appropriate UUA department or UUA staff person, so that Rev. Cain may be held fully accountable for her clergy sexual misconduct in accordance with UUA principles and bylaws etc., I will consider you to be knowingly and willfully complicit in Rev. Cynthia P. Cain's "sexual harassment" of Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and ALL other Republicans. To borrow a phrase from one of the UUA's "less than perfect" Canadian attorneys, Maitre Marc-André Coulombe of Stikeman Elliott Barristers & Solicitors LLP,

DO GOVERN YOURSELF ACCORDINGLY

Hi Robin - have you seen this article on the Huffington Post? If not, I thought you might like to read it. It opens like this:

I am a Unitarian Universalist, and we consider ourselves the most tolerant of faiths. In the 19th century Universalist churches were known for opening their doors to dissenters of all varieties, and our modern-day UU churches have continued to provide space for those who cannot find a welcome mat elsewhere: atheists and agnostics, religious humanists, political dissidents. We UUs see ourselves as "broadminded," and so tend to say things like, "There is truth in every religious tradition. We respect all religious beliefs." In one of our services, you might hear a reading from the Bible, but just as likely from the Quran, Black Elk, Lao-tse or Starhawk. However, in spite of our long history and tradition of tolerance, I am finding myself increasingly intolerant -- specifically, of the theology and practice of many evangelical Christians.

I will try to make it a live link here but I'm not sure this will work:

OK great, it looks like the live link worked. So enjoy the article. And...I think you recently had a birthday, isn't that correct? I think I learned somewhere that you're a Libra, right? And we're almost done with that sign and preparing to go into Scorpio. If I am correct, I hope you had a lovely birthday and wish you well this year. Have a great day Robin

Hi Katie,

Thanks for the heads up. It is appreciated and more such alerts are welcomed. I actually did see Rev. Marilyn Sewell's rather hypocritical article in the HuffPost about her loss of tolerance for "Conservative evangelical Christians" and commented on it yesterday. I will probably add some further comments to it over the weekend. In fact I have received some replies to my comment that I fully intended to respond to.

Yes, I did have a birthday about a week and a half ago. Thanks for the birthday wishes. And looking out my window it does look like it will be a beautiful fall day here in Montreal.

Hi! Keep it up! I will be looking forward to visit your page again and for your other posts as well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about sexual harassment in your area. I'm glad to stop by your site and know more about sexual harassment. This is a good read.
These activists, Lin Farley, Susan Meyer, and Karen Sauvigne went on to form Working Women's Institute which, along with the Alliance Against Sexual Coercion, founded in 1976 by Freada Klein, Lynn Wehrli, and Elizabeth Cohn-Stuntz, were among the pioneer organizations to bring sexual harassment to public attention in the late 1970s.
Our employee-side discrimination practice focuses on advancing the rights of workers that have been unjustly terminated or deprived of the full and fair enjoyment of their profession due to their race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, age, handicap/disability, gender discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual orientation, or genetics. In addition to substantive discrimination claims based on our clients' membership in a protected class, Bennett & Belfort, P.C. frequently handles retaliation claims for employees who have been punished by their employer for filing a discrimination claim, whether meritorious or not. Other forms of retaliatory claims we handle involve whistleblower claims. Our attorneys give each client individualized attention in an effort to identify, understand and address the unique aspect of his/her case.
